TRAINING ACTIVITIES
To become a standard university with the mission of providing high-quality human resources in the field of natural resources and environment, the University’s training program is oriented according to the educational philosophy “Comprehensive Education - Sustainable Development - International Integration”. The University has a training size of more than 10,000 students - students of 19 training disciplines in 6 subdivisions: economics, earth science, computer information technology, technology-Engineering, Construction-architecture, and Resources-Environment.

In 2018, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment began master training with two disciplines: Land Management and Environmental Engineering. To date, the University has expanded the size of higher education with 05 disciplines: Environmental Resource Management, Geographic Map, Environmental Engineering, Information Technology, and Land Management with 660 practitioners.
With the commitment to “QUALITY – CREATIVITY – EFFICIENCY”, the school is interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary, with opportunities to improve the level of higher education at, University of Natural Resources and Environment in the city. Ho Chi Minh will always be a reliable address for students to study, train, and promote creativity on the journey of construction, forming their careers.

For many years, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment has been particularly interested in the inspection. Up to now, the University has completed the assessment, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training certificate of quality accreditation of higher education establishments. In 2022, the University has achieved certification of higher education establishments with standard, 04 undergraduate level training programs with quality accreditation standards and 03 programs completing external assessment (including the disciplines of Environmental Management, Environmental Technology, Geodetic Engineering, Map Technology, Information Technology, Land Management, Business Administration and Information Systems). In the coming time, the University will continue to implement self-assessment and evaluation in addition to the remaining university-level training programs and to progress towards evaluation in addition to master’s degree training programs. The event once again affirms this is a high-quality human resources training facility a centre of scientific research and advanced technology transfer in the fields of science, technology, engineering, economics and management.

FACILITY
As a training university based on applied research orientation, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment has focused on mobilizing all resources, actively promoting synchronous investment in modern facilities systems, meeting international standards. The facilities system serves the University’s teaching, learning and scientific research work with 7 laboratories, 7 hands-on rooms and 4 stations, field laboratory gardens. Among them are the Environment Laboratory (Achieving ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificate), Meteorological Observation Garden, Meteorological Simulation Practice Hall and more than 200 practice machines for Geometry – Map industry.

In 2022, the University started Construction of the School’s facilities (Stage 1) in the Nha Be district. Up to now, the construction project of facilities completed more than 1/3 of the road of phase 1; on December 9th 2022 the University has solemnly organized the roof of the building A3 – The first building in the whole project of building the work area, lecture and laboratory of HCMUNRE.
SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Scientific research and technology transfer activities are implemented by the University, contributing to support training and community service activities. The 2016-2023 period of scientific research of the University approaches in interdisciplinary trends; in which the main research directions of the University focus on important areas such as resources and environment, new energy, waste management-treatment, hydrological meteorology and climate change, land management-geodular land-map, water resources, IT application in the field of resources and the environment, and achieve some achievement results.

In the period 2016-2023, the University has implemented hundreds of topics at all levels in the fields; publishing many research works published in the local and foreign journal in field of Natural Resources and Environment; organizing and participating in many domestic and international scientific conferences.

EXTERNAL RELATION
In the face of challenges from the requirements of the human resources of the 4.0 Industrial Period, the development of the digital era, the University regularly changes, updates training programs towards international standards. Establish and expand training and research partnerships with domestic and foreign institutions, providing students with opportunities to learn, research, intern, learn, and experience a work environment.

Until now, the school has become a reliable partner for many training and research organizations both domestically and internationally in conducting training, scientific research, project implementation, and technology transfer. Many officials, lecturers, and students from the university have received research and training scholarships, and have been recruited abroad to create job opportunities.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Officials, workers are the key to achieving the school’s success. The majority of the teaching staff of the School graduates from prestigious schools, institutions in the country and the world, of which more than 10% are professors, associate professors, PhDs, experts in the field of environment. The University’s faculty team is always ready to accompany students in the learning process, scientific research as well as access to the practical working environment at the enterprise.
ACHIEVEMENT
With a history of more than 45 years of formation, development and 11 years of establishment, so far, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment has gradually affirmed its position in the system of strong public universities of the Southern region in particular and the country in general. The University has twice honored by the President of the State awarded the Second Class Labor Medal in 2012, 2021 and many Merit Degree, the Examination Flag of the Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, Ministry of Education and Training. On August 16th 2021 the University was signed by the Ministry of Education and Training a decision to recognize the quality accreditation of the educational institution.
